Artist Resale Royalty Program

As a lifelong collector and gallerist, Larry supported the Equity for Visual Artists Act introduced by Congressman Jerrold Nadler in 2011. The legislation still pending today, would set aside a royalty rate from resales for visual artists.

In 2020, the Souls Grown Deep Foundation announced a Resale Royalty Program Award Program that gives living artists a 5% royalty when collection works are resold. In honor of Larry and Artist Purvis Young’s relationship, the Larry T. Clemons Collection will give a 5% royalty on any collection works that are resold or any licensing and reproduction fees to the step-grandchildren of Purvis Young.
