Collection Overview

The Larry T. Clemons Collection encompasses nearly 4,500 works of art by self-taught artists of the American South collected over a span of fifty years by art collector and gallerist, Larry T. Clemons. The corpus of the collection is Artist Purvis Young.  Larry was a close personal friend and business associate of the artist until his passing in 2010. The collection contains Purvis Young artifacts, personal items and artwork from the 1960’s to 2010 created on a multitude of upcycled surfaces. 

Curated exhibits from the Larry T. Clemons Collection are available for loan or rent to institutions, corporations and learning centers.  For more information about the collection, contact us.
